Global space – European space – Polish Space. The Challenges of the XXI Century (A Discussion Paper)

Przestrzeń globalna – przestrzeń Europy – przestrzeń Polski. Wyzwania XXI wieku (artykuł dyskusyjny)
Artykuł prezentuje nową interpretację przestrzeni globalnej. Najważniejszym elementem tej przestrzeni są cztery megaprzestrzenie Ameryki, Europy, Chin i Indii. Megaprzestrzeń jest wielkim obszarem geograficznym skupiającym istotny w skali globalnej potencjał demograficzny, gospodarczy, naukowy, kulturowy i militarny. Jest także obszarem zróżnicowanym regionalnie, na którym jednak nie występują istotne bariery hamujące wolne przepływy osób, dóbr, informacji i kapitału. Innowacyjne studia czterech megaprzestrzeni są wielkim wyzwaniem teoretycznym i pragmatycznym dla Regional Studies Association jako organizacji, która powinna otwierać nowe karty w interpretacji przestrzeni globalnej XXI wieku.

Global space – European space – Polish Space. The Challenges of the XXI Century (A Discussion Paper)
The paper presents a new interpretation of global space. The most important elements of this space are four megaspaces of America, Europe, China and India. A megaspace is a grand geographical area representing a big demographic, political, economic, and scientific potential. The megaspace is a regionally differentiated area with no important barriers limiting free flows of persons, commodities, information, capital. The innovative studies of four megaspaces are a great theoretical and pragmatic challenge for Regional Studies Association as an organization which should open new chapters in the interpretation of the global space of the XXIst century.
